Spring cleaning with a difference – let’s green up London!
Friday, April 25, 2008

London Wildlife Trust’s year long mission to green up a stretch of land running east from the Olympic Park to the Thames got underway this week.

Volunteers clearing up the buddleiaThe Greenway is an important but somewhat neglected route and the plan is to clear up the rubbish and enhance the habitat so that it becomes a haven for people and wildlife.

A group of volunteers will gather every Tuesday to transform the area, focussing their efforts on the stretch closest to the Olympic Park near West Ham tube. During their first session, Team Greenway tackled the buddleia that has taken over area.

It’s not too late to get involved. Visit our volunteering pages to find out how you can join the team.
