Projects

London Wildlife Trust is the only charity dedicated solely to protecting the capital's wildlife and wild spaces.  Our conservation work includes projects to protect priority species, like the stag beetle and water vole, and projects to preserve and enhance London’s precious habitats, for example our river restoration work in the Crane Valley.

 

The 2012 Olympics
London Wildlife Trust is working hard to make sure wildlife and the wider environment are taken into account during the 2012 build, the Games and beyond.

The London Water Vole Project started in March 2001 and is dedicated to the conservation of this species throughout Greater London.

London Wildlife Trust is maintaining a database of stag beetle records in the capital. This not only helps to ensure that we keep an updated record of their distribution, but will also help us find out why they are present in some parts of London and not others.
 

 

 

The Crane Valley Project
An little known valley in the depths of west London is the focus of an exciting scheme to breathe life into a neglected river – one whose waters are rich in history and a precious home for wildlife.

London Wildlife Trust works in partnership with other wildlife and conservation organisations across the capital, including the GiGL records centre and the London Biodiversity Partnership.
