Current Projects

London Wildlife Trust is the only charity dedicated solely to protecting the capital's wildlife and wild spaces. Our conservation work includes projects to protect priority species, like the stag beetle and water vole, and projects to preserve and enhance London’s precious habitats, for example our river restoration work in the Crane Valley. The Trust engages London’s diverse communities through access to our nature reserves, volunteering programmes and education and outreach work.

mole cricket
A friend has reported sighting what looks like a mole cricket resting on netting protecting scaffolding outside his flat on the Mayville Estate, Islington N16 8LS. He identified the cricket from a book which said that these were found south of the Thames and were rare, so he wanted LWT to know. He is going to try to get a builder to take a picture, as he can't climb out onto the scaffolding to get close enough.
