Coal House Cafe - Barista

Salary: £9.75 per hour

London Wildlife Trust is recruiting for a Barista at the Coal House Cafe, our renovated grade II listed building set within Woodberry Wetlands, our award winning nature reserve that was opened to the public last year by Sir David Attenborough.

Based at: The Coal House Café, Woodberry Wetlands.

Full-time and part time positions available, permanent contract (shift pattern working)

London Wildlife Trust is a growing charity with a diverse range of projects and funding sources, and we are currently recruiting for a Barista at the Coal House Cafe, set within Woodberry Wetlands

The successful candidate will have worked in a cafe in a similar role, with knowledge of expert coffee making. We would prefer Baristas who have experience using La Marzocco Linea Espresso Machine & Victoria Arduino Mythos One Coffee Grinder. If you have a passion for hospitality, and would like a work environment with a breath-taking view, then this is the perfect role for you.

The post holder will be responsible for serving drinks and table service at the Coal House Café. You will promote the image of the Coal House as an ‘on trend’ daytime Café and be actively responsible for ensuring that all customers have an experience at The Coal House Café that exceeds their expectations.

The successful candidate will possess strong organisational and time management skills, a ‘can-do’ attitude, excellent customer service and both written and verbal communication skills playing a vital role in contributing to the long term financial sustainability of Woodberry Wetlands as a go-to natural heritage visitor destination for London.

This is an exciting time to join London Wildlife Trust as we embark on the development of new major projects including the launch of a new visitor and learning centre at Camley Street Natural Park in King’s Cross, the second year of operation at our brand new Woodberry Wetlands nature reserve in Hackney, and the opening of Walthamstow Wetlands, one of the largest urban nature reserves in Europe.

London Wildlife Trust manages over 40 nature reserves across the capital that are exemplars of urban conservation land management. The Trust engages London’s diverse communities through access to our nature reserves, volunteering programmes and education and outreach work.
