Do You Dig It – Volunteer Leaders Programme (Next intake: August)A reworking of our old Graduate Trainee Volunteer at Camley Street foranyone looking to obtain the skills needed to find a job in the conservation sector. Gain experience in our busy urban nature reserve working with people and wildlife on the Do You Dig It? project. You will gain skills and training in running a visitors centre and park, organising events, environmental education, running practical workdays, and in practical conservation and horticultural tasks during a structured 3 month placement, with an optional fourth month to run a mini project. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain the skills often required by employers in the sector, and suitable, committed volunteers will have the chance to gain paid work with the Trust.

Do You Dig It – Environmental Education
This is our exciting new education, food-growing and community outreach project. We need volunteers to help run environmental education sessions for primary aged children. You will learn how to deliver a successful environmental education programme and have the opportunity to shadow experienced staff until you become confident to lead lessons (or parts of lessons) on your own. This role provides excellent work experience for anyone wanting a career in the environmental education sector.

Do You Dig It – Practical Volunteers
As part of the DYDI project, we need volunteers to help run our award winning urban nature reserve as well as local community growing spaces. Receiving more than 5000 visitors a year, we need your help in all aspects of running the park; from manning the visitors centre and daily park maintenance, to creating new habitat areas and visitor resources. Whether you enjoy talking to the public about the environment, are artistic and would like to see your work being used to promote environmental awareness or enjoy growing food and being outdoors, this is the volunteer role for you!

Budding Together Project Volunteers
Our project at Camley Street Reserve offers conservation and food growing activities aimed at adults that have mental health issues. We have a varied array of activities and healthy walks, a chance to see how wildlife is all around us and how you can help. We mostly have sessions here at Camley Street, but also occasional workdays at other sites.
No experience is necessary, if you are interested in being outside helping wildlife and learning something new and maybe getting a little fitter please contact me by phone or email

Budding Together Buddies
Are you easy going, empathetic and like working with people in a natural setting? Our Budding Together project promotes mental wellbeing for adults with mental health problems, through practical conservation sessions at Camley Street Natural Park. We are looking for volunteers to help support and engage with the group and staff.
No conservation/gardening experience is required and necessary guidance and training will be provided
