Spring in the City

Spring in the City

From the first signs of new growth in budding trees to the throng of insect life on a wildflower verge, spring in the city is a wonderful time to connect with nature.

As days become longer and lighter, the sights, sounds and smells of spring can be found across London in hidden nature reserves as well as sprouting through the cracks of pavements, replacing the dark of winter with colour and life.

The start of March is usually when we begin to see the first signs of the change of seasons, with 21st March being the date of the Spring Equinox – the date on which day and night are of equal length. You might notice birdsong becoming louder and as more flowers and greenery appear, bees and butterflies start to flourish.
