We'll be searching for this elusive butterfly which is a flagship species of the Great North Wood because of its close association with oak trees.

The purple haistreak is often overlooked because of its short flight period and its habit of flying high up in the canopy at evening time.

We'll try and spot the butterfly by watching the canopy of oak trees with binoculars - bring your own pair of binoculars along if you have them!
