Sessional Outdoor Learning Officer

Salary: £11.11 per hour, depending on experience; Fixed Term Zero hours contract

Location: Walthamstow Wetlands

We are currently recruiting for sessional workers to support the preparation and delivery of curriculum linked outdoor learning sessions targeted at school children, family learning and forest schools. Sessions will be primarily held at Walthamstow Wetlands, but you may be offered work across London Wildlife Trust sites.

London Wildlife Trust are partnering with London Borough of Waltham Forest as an activity partner for the Walthamstow Wetlands project. To help deliver the Heritage Lottery funded activity plan for this, we are currently recruiting for sessional workers to support the preparation and delivery of curriculum linked outdoor learning sessions targeted at school children, family learning and forest schools. Sessions will be primarily held at Walthamstow Wetlands, but you may be offered work across London Wildlife Trust sites.

The successful candidates will have experience of planning, organising and delivering curriculum linked environmental learning sessions for young children in an outdoor setting, as well as developing learning sessions for teachers, schools, community groups and families. You will have a strong understanding of the National Curriculum, but also have experience of delivering non-curriculum learning for community groups, families and care givers. A good understanding of safeguarding issues is essential for this role.

London Wildlife Trust manages over forty nature reserves across the capital, supporting wildlife and providing opportunities for local communities to enjoy high quality, natural space. The Trust also delivers projects focusing on protecting priority habitats and species in London and works to influence policy makers to support this work.
