Walthamstow Wetlands is the scene of the quest, and what a backdrop it is. One of the largest urban wetlands in Europe, there are stacks of species to spot. From peregrine falcons, to a bustling heronry, to a whole range of duck species, he’ll be exploring the best that the winter wetlands have to offer.
Walthamstow Wetlands is one of 36 free-to-enter nature reserves managed by the London Wildlife Trust. It is an internationally important site, providing home and shelter to a range of wildlife (including kingfishers!). By purchasing a ticket to this event you are supporting the Trust in its mission to champion nature’s recovery across London.

Duration: Walks will be approximately 2.5-3 hours.
More details
- Places are limited to 15 people per walk. The event will last for approximately two and a half hours – please arrive 10 minutes before the walk is due to begin.
- The wildlife IS wild and can be unpredictable. There's a good chance of seeing the target species, but we cannot guarantee the quest will be a success – although you WILL see some great things along the way!
- This is an outdoor event. It will include some time spent in bird/wildlife hides but will largely be open to the weather. In the case of extreme conditions, the walk may be cancelled in order to maintain a high-quality experience. If this is the case you will be contacted about refunds or rebooking.
- Please check the forecast before visiting and dress accordingly. Sturdy footwear is always recommended.
- These walks will largely be on well-maintained footpaths but may include periods of uneven terrain. The walks will be manageable for most people with moderate fitness, but please consider your personal fitness levels before booking.
- This experience is not suitable for dogs.
