About the event

PLEASE NOTE THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 16-30

Often flying insects get a bad rep - mosquitoes and moths, for example, are known for their 'nuisance' rather than the super important roles they play as pollinators in our delicate ecosystem 🕸️

In this beginner friendly workshop, our visitor engagement ranger Lira will talk through the pollinators that can be found in and around London, their importance and ways we can protect them 🦋

Attendees will also be shown how citizen science projects like Buzz Map, which uses DNA analysis, can help us better understand pollinators and improve our conservation efforts🧬

During this workshop, participants will be able to get up close to insect samples, practise identifying insects and create seed dumplings to take home! 🥟

💸 Cost: 0 - £5 (*ticket price does not include the Eventbrite fee)

All profits from this event are invested into London Wildlife Trust’s conservation and education work and the care of its nature reserves.

👟 What to bring: Comfy clothes, closed-toe shoes, and a willingness to get stuck in – we’ll take care of the rest.♿ Accessibility: We aim to make this event as inclusive as possible. Please get in touch with us at verangers@wildlondon.org.uk if there’s anything we can do to support you.
