Birdwatching permit payment
From 2026, the way you apply for and receive your birding permit is changing. We’ll still be using the same lottery system, but we’re moving the process online.
You’ll receive your permit by email. When you visit the reserve, you’ll need to bring a form of photo ID and be ready to show your email permit.
You’ll also no longer need to submit a photo with your application.
Please note that from 2026 the permit cost has increased to £15, in line with rising costs and similar permit fees across London.
