Do You Dig It?

Do You Dig It? was an education, food-growing and community outreach project, based at Camley Street Natural Park.

It aimed to increase awareness of organic food growing, biodiversity and healthy eating to a range of beneficiary groups from the boroughs surrounding Camley Street, including school aged children, community groups and the wider public.

The project reached over of 25,000 people, including 5039 school children and 21 local community groups, teaching them about the biodiversity needed in order to grow the food we need to eat.

20,000 people visited the park over the course of the project and witnessed first hand the creation of a floating forest garden, demonstrating a possible integrated edible ecosystem containing fruit trees, bushes, herbs, wildflowers, wildlife habitat and the occasional vegetable!

All this work would not have been possible without the help of our dedicated volunteers.

Over 200 volunteers put in a stupendous amount of time and effort to create resources such as our outdoor kitchen and floating garden, to educate children through our schools programme, to provide fun activities in the holidays and to grow a huge amount of plants and vegetables.

Many thanks, we could not have done it without you, and our Floating Forest Garden looks beautiful!
