The Larder Café at The Engine House
The Larder runs The Engine House Café situated in the historic and locally-listed Engine House at the Walthamstow Wetlands. The café is currently open 9:30 – 3:45pm and operates 363 days a year. It offers breakfast, brunch and lunch options including freshly made sandwiches, salads and seasonal dishes.
You can expect all the Larder favourites including Union hand-roasted coffee, speciality teas and freshly baked cakes, made by the Larder bakers – and like all the items on the menu the team use only natural wholefood ingredients.
Originally constructed in 1894 to house the steam engine which pumped water through the reservoirs and supplied, the Victorian Engine House is a locally-listed building.
The now beautifully restored Engine House Café offers plenty of seating within the exposed brick walls of the original building as well as an outside terrace offering stunning views over Walthamstow Wetlands and London.
The Engine House Café is also available to hire for private events. Combining modern amenities with original architectural features, it is a unique heritage destination. Find out more on our events page.
Please note we cannot make table bookings at the café.
