The Larder runs the Engine House Cafe situated in the historic and locally-listed Engine House at the Walthamstow Wetlands. The cafe operates 363 days a year, and offers breakfast, brunch and lunch options including freshly made sandwiches, salads and seasonal dishes.

You can expect all the Larder favourites including Union hand-roasted coffee, speciality teas and freshly baked cakes, made by our own bakers – and like all the items on our menu we use only natural wholefood ingredients.

Originally constructed in 1894 to house the steam engine which pumped water through the reservoirs and supplied, the Victorian Engine House is a locally-listed building.

The now beautifully restored Engine House Cafe offers plenty of seating within the exposed brick walls of the original building as well as an outside terrace offering stunning views over Walthamstow Wetlands and London.

The Engine House Cafe is also available to hire for private events. Combining modern amenities with original architectural features, it is a unique heritage destination.

Whether you are planning a corporate meeting, conference, wedding reception or party, the Engine House Cafe can host private events for up to 120 people and up to 250 for the whole building.

Please note we cannot make table bookings at the café.
