Join us for a guided walk to explore the fascinating world of woodpeckers (and other feathered creatures).

Woodpeckers are a key species of the Great North Wood, a wooded landscape which once covered a huge area of south London and which now exists as an array of woodland fragments including One Tree Hill.

Colourful and charismatic, Great Spotted Woodpeckers fill the woods with their distinctive drumming in late winter, early spring. Equally colourful, the green woopecker can be recognised by it's laugh-like 'yaffle'. Find out more about these fascinating creatures with our ecologist Tony Wileman.

Meet by the gates of St Augustine's Church. This event is offered free as part of the Great North Wood project and there is no need to book.
