Survey of freshwater invertebrates in Thamesmead

This will be a survey a identification of freshwater invertebrates in the Thamesmead Canal system.

On Friday the 19th April we will be collecting the specimens from 5 sites around the north Thamesmead Canals.

On Saturday the 20th and Sunday 21st of April we will be inside sorting and identifying the specimens that we have collected the previous day.

This is a great oppurtunity to learn about surveying freshwater invertebrates and how they are used to assess the health of freshwater ecosystems.

We'll be using microscopes and keys in the second two days, no prior experience is required but if you get easily strained eyes do be aware of this.

We will be meeting at Abbey on the first day, joining instructions will be sent out to those that book their places.
