About the event

Tove’s Island

The exhibition at Walthamstow Wetlands Engine House explores Tove Jansson’s island home and the inspiration she took from nature. It features beautifully rendered and displayed facsimilies of photographs taken of Tove on Klovharun, quotes, a short film and her own work including her nature studies and descriptions of birds.

Moomin Trail

Explore Walthamstow Wetlands with Tove Jansson’s most famous creations, The Moomins, and learn more about a London alive with nature. Moomin Trail maps available from the Engine House Visitor Centre (donations welcome).
