About the event

What’s a shooting star? is there a difference between a meteor, a comet and an asteroid? Where do they all come from? Stow stargazers' astronomy enthusiast Michael Lomotey will introduce us to what are known as "Near Earth Objects" or "NEO's", in the night sky, with a focus on the Perseid meteor shower.

The evening will culminate in an exclusive guided walk through the reserve (weather permitting) with a chance try see some of the meteor shower which is peaking that week. The walk will take place regardless of the weather and night sky conditions, and is a chance to enjoy this wonderful urban nature reserve after hours.

Bring binoculars and a red-light torch if you have them and wrap up warm for your exclusive evening tour. All profits from this event are invested into London Wildlife Trust’s work to promote nature recovery in London for a thriving city, with wildlife in everyone's neighbourhood.
