Great North Wood Guided Walk - Streatham Common to Crystal Palace
Event details
About the event
South of the River Thames, an ancient landscape of woodland and wooded commons once covered the high ground between Deptford and Selhurst.
The Great North Wood was gradually lost as London expanded, but fragments still remain. Join us to learn about the history and wildlife of this ancient landscape.
The walk will start at Streatham Common, passing through Biggin Wood, Spa Wood, Beaulieu Heights, Stambourne Woodland Walk and finishing in Crystal Palace park near the train station. The route is approximately 4 miles.

The delivery of the 'Reuniting Sydenham Hill Wood and Dulwich Wood' project is made possible by our funders and partners: The National Lottery Heritage Fund, The Dulwich Estate, Southwark Council, The Kusuma Trust, Black Girls Hike, and Wanderers of Colour. This funding and these partnerships help to secure the future of the woods by bringing together the management of Sydenham Hill Wood and Dulwich Wood under London Wildlife Trust.
