Based at: The Coal House Café, Woodberry Wetlands.
Full and part-time, permanent contracts (shift pattern working)

London Wildlife Trust is a growing charity with a diverse range of projects and funding sources, and we are currently recruiting for a Cafe Service Assistant at the Coal House Cafe, set within Woodberry Wetlands.

The successful candidate will have worked in a café or a hospitality setting, in a similar role, with excellent customer service skills. If you have a passion for hospitality, and would like a work environment with a breath-taking view, then this is the perfect role for you.

The post holder will work as part of a new team and will be responsible for welcoming guests and returning patrons at the Coal House Café, taking orders in an accurate and friendly manner. You will promote the image of the Coal House as an ‘on trend’ daytime Café and be actively responsible for ensuring that all customers have an experience at The Coal House Café that exceeds their expectations. You will also work with the Coal House Café team in an efficient and collaborative manner, helping in the kitchen to prepare food dishes or the barista prepare drinks during busy periods, and work as events service staff for private hire and evening events at the Coal House Café.

The successful candidate will possess strong organisational and time management skills, a ‘can-do’ attitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills playing a vital role in contributing to the long term financial sustainability of Woodberry Wetlands as a go-to natural heritage visitor destination for London.

This is an exciting time to join London Wildlife Trust as we embark on the development of new major projects including the launch of a new visitor and learning centre at Camley Street Natural Park in King’s Cross, the second year of operation at our brand new Woodberry Wetlands nature reserve in Hackney, and the opening of Walthamstow Wetlands, one of the largest urban nature reserves in Europe.

London Wildlife Trust manages over 40 nature reserves across the capital that are exemplars of urban conservation land management. The Trust engages London’s diverse communities through access to our nature reserves, volunteering programmes and education and outreach work.
