Private Hires: Christmas at Camley Street
Fantastic Trees at Walthamstow Wetlands
Walthamstow Wetlands,
Walthamstow Wetlands, 2 Forest Road , Walthamstow, London, N17 9NHAbout the event
Did you know that there are around 73 000 tree species in the world, 79 of which can be found in the UK? Trees create a variety of microhabitats for wildlife - from birds creating nests in them to pollinators feeding on their nectar-rich flowers. Woodlands are vital for all of us - we rely on them for clean air, carbon storage and flood protection.
Join Lora, Visitor Engagement Officer on a gentle walk around Walthamstow Wetlands where we will learn about the trees' adaptations to winter and learn how to identify some of the species found around the reserve by looking at the bark texture, colour and buds when leaves had fallen off.
Meet for the walk at the Engine House Visitor Centre. Please dress for the weather and note, some paths are uneven, so walking shoes/boots are recommended.
This event is aimed at adults aged 18+, but can be inclusive for young people aged 11 and above, who must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Further instructions will be sent prior to the event.
All proceeds from this event are invested into London Wildlife Trust’s wider nature recovery work across London.

Dogs
Please be advised that trained assistance dogs on duty are welcome, but in order to protect the sensitive habitat and drinking water supply, we cannot allow other dogs or pets of any kind on-site, as the wildlife may become distressed.
