Keeping it Wild Collective - Sharing Spaces, youth-led workshops

Got an idea that brings young Londoners together to take action for nature?  

Whether you’ve run a nature-based workshop before or you’re just starting out, this is your chance to step up, share your ideas, and lead something inspiring. We’re here to help you make it happen — with mentorship every step of the way to help you feel confident, plus we’ll handle all the behind-the-scenes organising (think free lunch for everyone and spreading the word about your event!).

What is the Keeping it Wild  Collective?  

The Keeping it Wild Collective runs workshops across London on all kinds of topics — each one designed to bring young Londoners together and build the skills to take action for nature in their own neighbourhoods. In line with the London Wildlife Trust’s aims we collaborate with passionate young facilitators and organisations who share our mission to make London wilder, greener, and more connected.

Requirements for facilitators:   

  • To apply for Sharing Spaces you must have attended at least one Collective event, this opportunity is to support members of the Collective to gain skills in facilitation and leadership – great for your CV!
  • You must be aged 16-30 and expect to deliver to peers in the same age group. 
  • You need to attend at least one pre-event planning meeting online (around 1 hour long). The Collective team will decide whether additional meetings are needed to ensure you are confident in leading your workshop.
  • We also offer an optional de-brief meeting after your event to help you continue to develop your skills.  

  • In addition, you will be asked to join a post-event evaluation session with our external facilitators. This will be an opportunity to be part of ensuring the London Wildlife Trust can continue to offer opportunities for young Londoners! 

     

Pay   

The Collective values the time, creativity, and energy that young people bring and we believe the sector should recognise this too.  

Facilitators will be paid a £100 flat rate to cover planning, delivery and travel. For multiple facilitators working as a group to deliver one workshop, we offer a maximum fee of £200 to be shared between a maximum of 3 facilitators.  

Payment covers planning, delivery, attendance of the pre-event meeting and the evaluation session, plus travel costs. You will receive payment on completion of your workshop and the evaluation session.  

 

Materials / Catering 

A £50 materials fee is available per workshop. 

Catering will be provided for all sessions.  

LWT staff will order all materials for you ahead of the workshop.

Please note we only have one space per month for a Sharing Spaces event, opportunities are given depending on how closely workshop ideas align with our aims and values, and based on a first come first served basis.
