About the event

Rewilding East London is an urban species recovery project led by the London Wildlife Trust and London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. The project plans to reintroduce the White stork and Eurasian beaver to restored wetlands at Eastbrookend Country Park.

Join our Species Recovery Officer, Layla, to learn about the plans for the species reintroduction taking at Eastbrookend Country Park from Autumn 2026 onwards 🦫🌿

What to Expect?

📽️ 30 min presentation on the project - focusing on the White Stork Reintroduction.

🌳 1 hour long guided walk around the Whitehart Lakes - BYOB (bring your own binoculars)

💬 Opportunities for questions/discussions throughout and to tell us how you would like to engage in the project going forward!

☕️ Teas, coffee and biscuits provided

Mobility

The guided walk route is a 1km loop, starting and ending at the Discovery Centre, approximately half the walk is paved, whilst half the route is a gravel/soil trail. We will pause regularly at viewpoints but there is no benches on route.
