About the event

A Bioblitz is a communal effort to record as many species within a designated location and time period as possible. Using the iNaturalist app, Tom will guide you around Sydenham Hill Wood and Dulwich Wood where you will be learning to identify your observations while contributing to the database of species living within the woodland. This walk will focus on galls, distinctive abnormal growths formed by trees' protective reaction to chemicals secreted by feeding insects, mites, bacteria, or fungi.

Mobility

The walk will be at a leisurely pace with benches & stopping points along the way. Footpaths can be uneven & there are steps & slopes at points due to the Woods' inclines. We are working on creating more wheelchair & buggy routes over the project period - please let us know if this is a concern
