About the event
Build your own terrarium, a miniature self sustaining ecosystem inside a glass jar!
All equipment is provided in this session where you will learn and build your own jar terrarium!
By building your own mini world, you will learn how an enclosed system sustains itself, recycles its own nutrients, and gain a better understanding of our own ecosystems alongside the importance that plants, fungi and invertebrates play in it.
We will then have a short walk around Grosvenor Square, searching for natural materials we can use as decorations in our terrariums, in addition to the provided materials.
Walk home with a jar full of life that you can observe the gradual changes in day by day.
If you have an empty, airtight jar, this is the perfect opportunity to bring it along and make something magical out of it. But jars and all other materials are provided.

Know before you go
Dogs
Dogs to be kept on leads at all times. Dogs should be kept clear of the children’s play area and the edges of the wetlands.Grosvenor Square has been designed for everyone and is wheelchair accessible and step-free. The route will also include pavements and road crossings outside of the gardens. There is an accessible toilet.
