Join us for a FREE celebration of nature at our Woodland Festival!🌿 Spend the day exploring Sydenham Hill Wood + Dulwich Wood through a programme of guided walks, hands-on workshops, creative activities, live music and inspiring art.
Whether you're looking to learn something new, get creative, or simply enjoy time outdoors, there's something for everyone. Throughout the day you can take part in a variety of activities, discover more about local wildlife and conservation, browse art exhibitions inspired by nature, and enjoy refreshments in a relaxed woodland setting.

👨👩👧👦 Who is it for?
Everyone is welcome! This is a family-friendly event for all ages. Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
🎟️ Do I need to book?
Yes—for guided walks and workshops, we ask that you book in advance via Eventbrite so we can manage group numbers and contact you if a session needs to be rescheduled due to weather.

Is the event free?
Yes! Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, with support from The Dulwich Estate and Southwark Council, all festival activities are free to attend.
How to get there
🚇 Tube/train stations:
Sydenham Hill (National Rail) – 5–10 minute walk
Forest Hill (Windrush Line/National Rail) – approximately 20-minute walk
🚏 Bus: Crescent Wood Road (356, 363) or Lordship Lane Estate / Grove Tavern (176, 185, 197, P4, P13) – 5–10 minute walk to the reserve entrances.
🚗 Car: Free parking is available on Grange Lane (Dulwich Wood entrance). There is no dedicated car park for Sydenham Hill Wood.
Accessibility
The Woodland Festival will take place across Sydenham Hill Wood + Dulwich Wood. Benches and stopping points are located throughout the woods, but please be aware that paths can be uneven and there are steps and slopes in places due to the woodland terrain.

Toilets
Yes! An accessible composting toilet will be available for attendees to use during the festival.
The nearest Changing Places toilet is located in Dulwich Park.
🌦️ What happens if the weather is challenging?
If there's heavy rain, high winds or other unsafe conditions, we may postpone walks and workshops for everyone's safety. If this happens, we'll contact booked attendees by email as soon as possible.
