About the event

Join us this holiday to explore different habitats and discover the nature that lives at Walthamstow Wetlands.  Woodlice, spiders, worms and toads are just a selection of the amazing animals that you might find! Activities will include using nets to look at animals found in the pond and looking under logs to see what minibeasts we can find. 

Meet by the Outdoor Classroom Area beside the Engine House. Come anytime between 1-3pm. The session will be led by a member of our Learning & Engagement team.

This event will run for 5 weeks of the Summer holidays on the following dates:

Sessions are aimed at children of all ages and parents/carers together. All children must be accompanied throughout the session by a responsible adult. 

No need to book, just drop in on the day. This is a free event, but donations are welcome. All profits are invested into London Wildlife Trust’s conservation and education work and the care of its nature reserves.

Dogs

Assistance dogs only

Please be advised that trained assistance dogs on duty are welcome, but in order to protect the sensitive habitat and drinking water supply, we cannot allow other dogs or pets of any kind on-site, as the wildlife may become distressed.

Mobility

The Marine Engine House and paved pathway through the site are accessible for wheelchair users and those with walking difficulties. Some of the paths around the Outdoor Classroom Area are woodchip. The path may be uneven and muddy in some places

There is an accessible toilet and café with ramp access.

The Engine House is fully accessible. Parts of the site are wheelchair accessible.

Please come dressed for the weather. Much of the session will be outside.
