Neighbourhood schools at Grosvenor Square
“If children don’t grow up knowing about nature and appreciating it, they will not understand it. And if they don’t understand it, they won’t protect it. And if they don’t protect it, who will?”
Our Neighbourhood Schools programme is available to local schools where more than 25% of pupils are eligible for Pupil Premium (35% for secondary schools). Schools are invited to visit with the same group on a repeat basis through the year. A programme will be created to suit your groups interests and needs.
The same group of students will visit the Square between 3-6 times over the school year. Students will experience the nature in the Square throughout the seasons, gaining a deeper understanding and connection to nature and their local green space.
Regular access to nature provides many benefits to children and young people including:
- improved physical and mental wellbeing
- developing emotional resilience
- improved focus back in the classroom
- an alternative way to access learning
- a deeper appreciation of nature leading to developing positive environmental attitudes
Group size
Primary: Up to 30 students
Secondary: Up to 16 students
It is the school’s responsibility to bring the appropriate adult to child ratio dependent on the age and needs of the group.
