Colne Valley

The Colne Valley is very varied and includes valleys, plateaus, and floodplain and contains a diversity of habitats, including not only the waterways themselves but ponds, wet woodland, and historic ditch systems.

Over 200km of rivers and canals are found within the boundaries of the scheme.
Within the Colne Valley there are 13 SSSIs, part of a Special Protection Area (SPA), one National Nature Reserve (NNR), several Local Nature Reserves (LNRs) and many wildlife sites; providing a home to several rare and threatened species such as water vole and otter.

Colne Valley - Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust

The Living Landscape scheme covers three Wildlife Trust areas, and Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust is in the course of delivering a three-year volunteer engagement project in partnership with the Colne Valley Regional Park, London Wildlife Trust and the London Borough of Hillingdon
London Wildlife Trust's wider contributions are yet to be scoped, but will be focussed around our reserves at Denham Lock Wood, Frays Farm Meadows, Frays Island, and Uxbridge Moor.
