The last few months have been extremely busy for the team at Camley Street Natural Park. Work on our new Visitor Centre is moving very quickly indeed now!
Our amazing volunteers have been busy with various tasks around the reserve – repairing steps, sprucing up the view point (one of our visitors favourite spots!), and managing vegetation around the reserve. We also hosted a brilliant group of corporate volunteers led by Mace. Over the course of the week, 56 volunteers spent a week on site refurbishing our pond dipping platform in order to make it safe for our little visitors to use, as well as school groups in spring next year. The tools and materials for this work were also provided to Mace, so a big thank you to them!
Keeping it Wild Trainees Charlotte and Frankie spotted a kingfisher on site at the end of September, and over the course of summer and early autumn we've seen many amazing dragonflies and damselflies. Unfortunately, due to a second lockdown, we have had to pause our practical conservation sessions again, but we're hoping to restart them soon. Dependent on whether the situation with Covid-19 calms down, we would love to open the gates to Camley Street Natural Park for our lovely visitors at the beginning of next year. We look forward to seeing you there!
